Hedge Fonds


Hier finden Sie Stellen bei Hedgefonds. Hedgefonds-Manager waren traditionell die Outsider in der Finanzdienstleistungswelt. Die meisten sind hoch erfolgreiche ehemalige Trader oder Fondsanager, die sich entschlossen haben, sich mit einem Hedgefonds selbstständig zu machen. Der Name „Hedgefonds“ leitet sich von dem Gedanken ab, dass Investoren ihre Geschäfte absichern können („hedgeing“), um sicherzustellen, dass sie Geld erwirtschaften – egal, ob der Markt steigt oder fällt. Eine Methode, um in einem fallenden Markt Geld zu verdienen, ist das sogenannte „Short-Selling“. Short-Seller borgen sich zunächst Bestände aus, die sie für überbewertet halten. Wenn der Preis (hoffentlich) fällt, kaufen sie die Bestände zum niedrigeren Preis zurück, geben sie an den Verleiher zurück und streichen den Gewinn ein.

Hedgefonds fallen je nach Investmentstrategie typisch in verschiedene Kategorien. Dazu zählen: Globale Macro Funds (Fonds, die sich auf globale Trends konzentrieren, statt auf Preisbewegungen bei einzelnen Beständen); ereignisbasierte Fonds (Fonds, die versuchen, von einmaligen Ereignissen wie Übernahmen und Bankrotten zu profitieren) oder Arbitrage-Fonds, die von Preisunterschieden an Handelsplätzen profitieren. Ein Arbitragefonds würde dort kaufen, wo es günstiger ist, und gleichzeitig dort verkaufen, wo es teurer ist.

Weil Hedgefonds als risikoträchtig gelten, können Investoren ihr Geld auch in „Dach-Hedge-Fonds“ investieren. Diese investieren Geld in mehrere verschiedene Hedgefonds mit der Absicht, das Risiko zu streuen und dadurch zu senken.

In diesem Sektor werden unterschiedliche Stellenangebote im Bereich Hedgefonds aufgelistet, darunter Analyse (Analysieren der Unternehmen, Märkte und Finanzprodukte, in die ein Hedge Fonds investiert); Sales und Marketing sowie Investor Relations (Zusammenarbeit mit Investoren und Unterstützung beim Verkauf der Vorteile des Fonds) und Trading (Ausführen der Investmentstrategie und Verkauf von Finanzprodukten). Hedgefonds-Trader sind oft reine Execution Trader, die größtenteils basierend auf den Empfehlungen eines Analysten agieren.

Hedgefonds stellen auch eine Reihe von Mitarbeitern in den Bereichen Risk und HR bzw. Compliance ein, um sicherzustellen, dass das Unternehmen erfolgreich läuft.

Viele Hedgefonds haben ihren Sitz in der Schweiz, insbesondere in Zürich. Der Londoner Stadtteil Mayfair ist ein Zentrum für das Hedgefonds-Recruitment in Großbritannien. In den USA sind Hedgefonds häufig in New York und Connecticut angesiedelt. Und Singapur ist ein wachsendes Hedgefonds-Zentrum in Asien.

Gleichzeitig mit dem Wachstum der Hedgefonds-Branche hat diese sich zunehmend institutionellen Investoren geöffnet. In der Folge gibt es eine zunehmende Überschneidung zwischen Berufen in Hedgefonds und solchen bei herkömmlichen Fondsmanagern.
